It was easy to schedule our tour. Everything was explained in great detail, so there was no confusion on the day of the excursion. The vans were spotless and comfortable. Our guide for the Colosseum was exceptional in every way. He was cute, knowledgeable, witty, flexible and engaging. We met so wonderful folks and shared a wonderful lunch with the guys from our group. Could not have been happier with Quiiky.read more

We had a fantastic tour of the Vatican with Paolo from Quiiky. Paolo was knowledgeable, personable, fun and really gave us a different insight into the history of art and the gay artists that are part of the Vatican's history and more! Highly recommended!read more

What an outstanding trip put together by Eduardo! The guides we had in both Rome (Ulisse) and Naples (Andrea) were absolutely excellent - they both were extremely knowledgeable and made the experience so much fun! Our hotel accommodations were excellent choices, and conveniently located to many things we wanted to see. The entire experience was highly enjoyable and we would recommend this company without reservation to anyone (gay or straight) looking for a uniquely tailored vacation experience.read more

Thanks Claudio for a great alternative tour of the Vatican. Having visited back in 1999 I wanted something a little different to do with my husband who had never visited before. It was busy but Claudio ensured we avoided as many crowds as we could and his insights made it a light hearted and fun morning, still with all the essential details you need to appreciate the artworks. It is great to see tour Quiiky offering tours with a twist and can most definitely recommend this one for your next visit to Rome.read more

We adored our Quikky tour of the Vatican with our guide Claudio. We had been a little apprehensive about visiting the Vatican but this tour is the way to go! Claudio had an expert knowledge of the art collection and we enjoyed hearing the "other", more scandalous stories of the private lives of Michelangelo and the popes. We loved our visit to the museums, Sistine Chapel, grotto and St Peters - I recommend joining the queue and adding on the view from the dome of the basilica - well worth the stairs!read more

First had a wonderful pre-cruise Quikky tour in Venice. Our guide was super friendly, knowledgeable, and a great deal of fun. Then I went on a tour of the Vatican and our tour guide was incredible. He is an expert on the Vatican and on the pertinent gay history (which turns out to be much more than you might even think). He literally made the Vatican come alive and provided one of the more fascinating tours I have taken anywhere. And the two wonderful owners of Quiiky picked us up and took us on a vehicular tour of Rome. Others got back from Rome complaining of the crowds and the heat... we got back energized, happy, and filled with fascinating information after an afternoon filled with fun and personalized care. Don't make the mistake thinking you will get an equivalent tour from a straight guide/company -- if you are gay, Quiiky is the way to go.read more

Excellent pre-cruise Quikky tour in Venice. Great guide who had so much intimate knowledge of Venice. Besides being very handsome he is a local resident for more than 2 decades with so much intimate knowledge that you can't get from a guidebook. This is my second time using Quikky for tours and transfers; they're my first choice in Italy!read more

On Footsteps of Von Gloeden in Taormina

Explore the pretty resort town of Taormina, claimed by many to be the most beautiful place in Sicily. It is said that it was Taormina itself that first attracted tourists to Sicily in the 18th and 19th centuries.

A favourite retreat for artists, writers, actors and intellectuals, by the turn of the century Taormina became a popular vacation spot for such high society families as the Rothchilds, Krupps and Vanderbilts. But a significant number of visitors are drawn by its notoriety as a capital of gay culture.

A frequent resident was Oscar Wilde, who worked on poems, essays and plays here. The town was also home base for Wilhelm von Gloeden, a German-born photographer known for his pastoral nude studies of tawny, smooth young Sicilian boys. With the rise of Fascism, the gay scene faded, but after the war, Taormina regained its allure, becoming a celebrity hangout for Truman Capote, Tennessee Williams, Christian Dior and others.

Taormina is the perfect place for a walking tour: there are a plenty of easily accessible historical monuments to see.
You will start a walking tour with a chance to admire the ruins of the Roman Odeon, a small Imperial Age theatre perhaps used for rehearsals, the 15th century Corvaja Palace (outside) and the 17th century church of Santa Caterina.

From here we shall walk to the Greek Theatre. Begun by the Greeks in the 4th-3rd century BC, the theatre was enlarged by the Romans some centuries later and is now a close second to nearby Syracuse in terms of importance and size. Breathtaking view from the top!

Free time for a stroll in Corso Umberto (the main street) a huge array of jewellery, lace and craft shops, designer boutiques and souvenir stalls.

For reservations from 5 people on, please write to booking@quiiky.com or call +39 02 78622532 (from Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 18:00 UTC+1) for a taylor-made offer.
